Here are some of our favorites...
Figure8 Coffee Purveyors
We love this place! Created in 2015 by two well known local baristas, Figure8 is an eastside hangout populated by hipster musicians, industry heads, local laptops and lovely, lovely people.
Figure8 serves up incredible coffees from roasters around the country as well as local roasters Tweed (Dallas) and WildGift (Austin). Focussed on quality and forever upping their game, these guys do specialty coffee extremely well. Word on the street is they have started roasting themselves, watch this space!
Caffe Medici
Caffe Medici has been around for over 15 years and was one of the first coffee shops in Austin to go 'specialty'. Fast forward 15 years and Medici has grown to 7 stores throughout Austin. Caffe Medici has consistently kept up an excellent coffee program and prides itself on super friendly service. We love the Caffe Medici team!
From the cozy West Lynn store to the snazzy espresso bar of downtown, Medici keeps its coffee philosophy the same throughout. Serving up SpyHouse (Minneapolis) and Wild Gift (Austin). you'll always get a great cup of coffee and a smile.
Caffe Medici opened up a coffee training facility and coffee roastery. Exciting times are ahead!
Fleet Coffee Shop
Fleet Coffee is where the baristas go for coffee. Focussing hard on quality, Fleet's coffee is hard to beat. Experienced and skilled baristas serve up some of the best latte art in town as well as offering both Kalita Wave and Chemex brewed pourovers.
A varied coffee offering always makes a trip to Fleet Coffee an exciting one, check out their Coffee And menu. The After School Ritual is a cortado that contains oreo infused milk. The New Fashioned hits the spot too!
Houndstooth Coffee
Locally owned and operated, Houndstooth is excellent at coffee and boy do we know it! Attention to detail is everything. Beautifully designed shops, with comfortable and aesthetically pleasing interiors, Houndstooth make the entire coffee shop experience a pleasure. Excellent service and just as excellent coffee, Houndstooth have a healthy rotation of award-winning roasters, most notably local roasters Tweed and Wild Gift.
With three stores in Dallas and another three in Austin (N Lamar and Congress and East Austin on MLK), this is a top notch shop that should be hit by anyone in the area.
Brew & Brew
Ok, so Brew & Brew has the best beer selection in Austin but the coffee is definitely up there too! Nestled on the east, close to downtown and next to art shows and live music events, Brew & Brew is a hip spot day and night. A great space to bring your laptop to and equally as good to socialize in.
Brew & Brew take their coffee seriously and have a super sexy Mod Bar in place of the classic espresso machine. With national and local coffee's on rotation, including local roasters Flat Track, they serve up a very decent cortado and a delicious Aeropress.
Flat Track Coffee Roasters
Half coffee shop/roaster and half a bike shop, Flat Track share a shop with Cycleast and are situated on the popular Cesar Chavez, just East of Downtown. Super chill vibes with an exciting coffee selection, the Flat Track team are extremely passionate about their coffee.
Flat Track roast all the coffee themselves in small batches and serve up a great brew. Friendly and laid back service make Flat Track one of our favorites. Whether you're there to work, socialize or take selfies with classic motorbikes and cute dogs, Flat Track is always a pleasure!
