We are Creature Coffee
Every day, we get to share exceptional coffees with wonderful humans. That’s what makes us smile the big smiles.
After all, we love all creatures. In all their glorious shapes, sizes, and colors.
As self-proclaimed coffee geeks, we started Creature Coffee with one (or is it three?) missions in mind - to source and roast exceptional coffee, to keep it honest, approachable, and fun, and to uplift our community by bringing smiles all across town.
We find and celebrate coffee producers who are growing some insanely tasty coffee varietals, pushing the boundaries on processing methods, and doing what's right for their environment along the way. We love sharing their fruits, their flavors, and their story with you, and somewhere along the line, we’d love to share a smile or belly giggle with you along the way.
Chief of Operations
Megan (she/her) organizes all of our things and people, from start to finish and she does it so, so smoothly. She's also a badass barista don't you know!
Megan once won a gaming comp and loves all food and traveling to pretty much anywhere!

Shelbey (she/her) is the ultimate perfectionist barista who enjoys cinnamon a little too much!
Shelbey is also the barista face for Creature and featured in our latest photoshoot. She's also the creative genius behind some of our more entertaining social media posts. When Shelbey is not busy stacking tulips, she has been known to jump out of planes.

When Jared (he/him) isn't riding his bike or being extremely charming, he's making sure the team has all the tools for their job. The fix it man around the warehouse, and keeps our barista team brewing.
He loves to Texas two step and can be found at Austin honky-tonks most nights. Apart from Thursday. He has been having dinner with the same group of friends every Thursday for the last 7 years!

Our in house poet Emily has an MFA in poetry from Texas State. When she's not doing 'all the things' she's chilling with her two gremlin dogs named Keats and Ramona and makes the best vegan chocolate chip cookies ever! Like EVER!

Chris grew up in Philippines until he was 13 before moving to the States and has now travelled to 5 continents. Always smiling, always charming, Chris is renowned for his insanely quick bar flow, legendary backpacking stories and positive energy.

Emily (she/her) is proud to call El Paso home—though we're glad she's now sharing her coffee passion here in Austin.
Beyond being a Latte Art Throwdown winner, Em enjoys doodling, cozy video games like Stardew Valley, and she has an unhealthy obsession with Hello Kitty, Slice of Life anime, graphic novels, the color green and comics.

Aleksandra (she/her) is a miracle sent from a land of rainbows and whimsy. She is the creative genius behind our little creatures and sparkly colors. She also happens to drink more coffee than Michael and Benjamin combined.

Michael (he/him) founded the original Creature Coffee cafe in east Austin in 2019, making a name for himself as the barista with the best accent in all of Austin.
He's the guy you should speak to if you have weird, esoteric questions about coffee or appreciate a solid 90 minutes of Premiership football.

Ben (he/him) is Michael's partner at Creature Coffee roasting.
Ben previously worked in craft beer with the likes of The Bruery and Third Window Brewing. These days he can be seen around Austin making blingy bolo ties, walking his dog, Babka, or cooking international cuisine for his friends.
