This direct trade coffee is a flurry of delights. It exhibits notes of juicy pineapple, delectable green kiwis, and sweet sugar cane. It packs a fruit punch, but still delivers a crisp, clean cup. "Outstanding," isn't saying enough.
For us, it's really about the people, and this coffee comes from some really, really good people.
To be quite honest and humble for a moment, what excites us the most about this coffee is that we were able to meet directly with the producers - Emanuel and Valentina. As a small-batch coffee roaster, we don't typically have the means or opportunities to travel the globe, sipping coffee on farms and intermingling with the folks who make this entire thing possible. But, on occasion, we find ourselves in the right place at the right time and are given the chance to shake hands and share cups with those who grow and process the coffee that arrives in our little Austin warehouse.
While we didn't get to surround ourselves in the glory of the lush hillsides and nurtured fields of their farm in Colombia, Finca La Roma, we did get to break bread with some new friends and when we started Creature Coffee, that was one of the main reasons. We wanted to meet other like-minded people and make some amazing coffee with them. The thing we love most about them is their dedication to improving and experimenting with their farming and processing techniques. Their constant pursuit of improving quality has resulted in phenomenally clean and balanced coffees.
This coffee is ridiculously good and it comes from ridiculously good people. We truly hope you enjoy it and we can't wait to see what else we get to work on with Emanuel and Valentina in the future!
